Happy 4th!

With last year's 4th of July still fresh in my mind like it happened yesterday, I once again stood on the rooftop at Ann's as the raindrops started falling and the umbrellas going up one by one. A huge wave of deja vu hit me. But I knew it was different from last year. I was with my closest friends and family (thanks to my friend Ann who let me bring the Chen dynasty to her gathering at the last minute!) on July 4th, eating, drinking wine, watching fireworks in the rain. There was nowhere else I'd rather be and no one else I'd rather share it with that night. I couldn't help but smile while we watched the fireworks, although there were two buildings in front of us that we wanted to knock down because they blocked our view to about 60% of the fireworks. Nevertheless, what we could see and hear were beautiful.

Avocados stuffed with shrimp, so delicious

Did I mention Ann is an incredible hostess? She *cooked* everything!

Jenny is happy with the wine and sitting on the floor
