Lights, Camera, 'A' Mountain

On Tuesday night, a friend took me to 'A' Mountain in Tempe, which is where Arizona State University is, so there are a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping areas. It's about a 20 minute hike up to the top, and the view really is beautiful. The name of the mountain is quite creative, there is a huge 'A' built into the side of the mountain, but you can't see it until you're almost at the top. I would never have thought that you could hike it, cuz there are absolutely no lights on the mountain. But there is enough light from the surrounding areas that we could kind of see where we were going. Unfortunately, there was no moon out, so it wasn't as bright as it could have been, but it was fine, I only almost fell once, haha. While we were hiking back down, there was one section of dirt road that was fairly steep, and my friend asked if I've ever tried walking backwards down a hill. Interesting concept, I'd never thought to try it, so I did, it's really weird! And kind of scary! We also walked around Tempe Lake, which is gorgeous. It's amazing, a HUGE man made lake in the middle of the desert valley, haha. Here are some pictures, but it doesn't really do the views justice, cuz my camera stinks, especially at night.

Not sure if you can see in the distance, but there are a few lights in the sky near the horizon, those are planes. The camera didn't capture the rest of the planes, there were so many in the sky at one time (the airport is in that direction, if you hadn't guessed already)
