Birthday Dinner at Maggiano's

A couple of weekends ago, my friends from church took Joe and me out to celebrate our birthdays since we're only a few days apart (well, more like a year, but who's counting, haha). I'd been to Maggiano's in Philly before and loved the food, but this was the first time I had family style at Maggiano's. Oh my gosh, there was SO much food at the table. All you can eat AND they let you take stuff home too! It was an amazingly tasty dinner. The waiter even let us order an extra appetizer instead of salad - who wants salad at an Italian restaurant??!!

I couldn't resist taking pictures of food - I so don't have proper table etiquette, haha. The veal and mushroom ravioli was amazing. Can you see by my recent posts why I've gained about 5 pounds?

Time for birthday cakes!

I felt so special - I didn't even have to make my own Asian fob signs.

Can't remember what the dessert is called - I think Joe called it the 'plate of goodness' or something to that effect.

Their tiramisu was really tasty, I highly recommend it.

The normal table picture - again, after stuffing ourselves

I still can't believe everyone actually agreed to this when me and Sherry said we should do an Asian fob picture. I think the tables across from us and the waiter thought we were a little crazy. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the picture. Even the next morning, I was still chuckling to myself.

Seriously, even though it was 'just dinner' - I felt really special. My friends came to pick me up so I didn't have to drive - I didn't even have to open the car door. Then during dinner, because it's family style, you have to pass the plates in the middle. Those plates were apparently really heavy cuz the guys were complaining that they were heavy. But it just so happened that the girls were sitting between guys and so I think the guys were just serving us. It was so awesome - I guess being a girl has certain advantages that I just never knew about :)
